Our Client is a leader in the forestry and forest products industry with an outstanding record. They require an experienced forester to join their professional team.
As Senior Forester you will work with other key members of the team in operations and forestry division to achieve maximum production.
Duties will include plantation establishment and maintenance, land resource evaluation, timber harvesting and fire protection, & project management. Ensuring environmental management standards and stewardship certifications are met will also be a key part of the role.
You will work towards key performance indicators in each of the above areas and use your skills in the areas of leadership, people management, planning and forecasting to achieve desired results. A good understanding of ecologically sustainable forest management principles, forestry legislation and operational constraints is required.
You will have proven people management experience with good understanding of forestry practices, forestry operator licensing, contracts, OH&S standards and ensuring contractor compliance in these areas.
Minimum 5 years working in forestry, specifically plantation establishment & maintenance, GIS, GPS, project and contractor management, harvesting and hauling.
A remuneration package including a fully maintained company vehicle will be negotiated in line with candidate experience to attract quality foresters.
