Key responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Packshed Manager you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Ensure all produce is packed to the highest standard using industry best practice.
- Organising and rostering all casual staff requirements.
- Maintaining the Packing shed cleanliness, adhering to all food safety requirements.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records for daily product pack outs.
- Working closely with the QA Manager and Harvest manager to manage the output of the pack house to cope with seasonal fluctuations in supply and demand.
- Assist in the management of client accounts.
- Ensuring batch coding and inventory management systems are adhered to.
- Assist with coordinating transport for the refrigerated delivery of packed produce on time.
- Maintaining packaging goods and liaising with suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Training, mentoring and performance of packing staff.
- Ensuring that WHS obligations are implemented and adhered to by team members.
- Working alongside key members of the growing and marketing team.
- Performing other duties as required within the scope of your skills and responsibilities.
• Significant experience in produce packing.
• Experience and working knowledge of Computerised packing graders.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and the needs of the market and environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Team player who can work autonomously.
• Be able to work flexible hours at times due to weather and seasonal influences. Weekend work in season will be required during harvest.
• Strong people management skills with a track record of developing, motivating and leading by example.
• Drive, commitment and the ability to influence others through commercial reasoning.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
• Ability to analyse data and interpret trends.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Must have an understanding and commitment to HACCP and quality protocols.
• Good knowledge of fresh produce hygiene and food safety
• Must have a drivers licence, current first Aid certificate, current forklift licence (not as important).
• Must have knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Experience in a similar position within the FMCG/food processing industry desirable.
