Our client is a large Agricultural production company growing predominantly annual horticultural crops and sugar cane. They are seeking a Farm Hand - Spray Operator to operate modern Agrifac equipment. Ideally you will also have good mechanical knowledge and fabrication experience to assist the Service team in the offseason. Located in the fertile Burdekin Valley near Ayr they are blessed with a secure water supply and take pride in supplying the highest quality product to Australian & Overseas markets.

Reporting to the Farm Manager you will be involved in key establishment, production, maintenance, harvest and operational aspects of the farm.

Duties include:

Tractor operation and modern Agrifac spray equipment.
General farming production practices for the farm from ground preparation, establishment, spraying, fertilizing
Ensure the appropriate maintenance of farm plant and equipment.
Deliver and achieve a safe working environment.
Recording and reporting of key data - ie; spray records, crop estimates etc.

Essential knowledge and skills:

Extensive experience in tractors /spray rigs and farm machinery.
Pest and disease identification.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and other industry software.
Practical technical horticultural skills.
Current driver's license.
Comprehensive communication skills.
Effective time management and organisational skills.
Experience in report compilation and record keeping.
