Located in the MIA region our client is a progressive, vibrant, privately owned business. We are seeking a Packing Shed Floor Supervisor to run a modern facility with emphasis on QA and reporting.   

The primary focus for this role is the efficient management of the pack house floor to ensure all orders are packed out to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for undertaking pack house quality assurance programs and provide advice, direction and support to shed staff whilst working alongside key members of the growing and marketing team.

Key responsibilities:
Reporting to the Pack House Manager you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Ensure all produce is packed to the highest standard using industry best practice.
• Organising and rostering all casual staff requirements.
• Maintaining the Packing shed cleanliness, adhering to all food safety requirements.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records for daily product pack outs.
• Working closely with the QA Manager and Harvest manager to manage the output of the pack house to cope with seasonal fluctuations in supply and demand.
• Assist in the management of Pallet and Bin accounts.
• Ensuring batch coding and inventory management systems are adhered to.
• Coordinating transport for the refrigerated delivery of packed produce on time.
• Maintaining packaging dry goods and liaising with suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained.
• Training, mentoring and performance managing packing staff.
• Ensuring that WHS obligations are implemented and adhered to by team members.
• Performing other duties as required within the scope of your skills and responsibilities.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:                               

• Significant experience in produce packing
• Working knowledge of packing graders.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Team player who can work autonomously.
• Be able to work flexible hours at times due to weather and seasonal influences.
• Strong attention to detail, thoroughness and problem solving skills.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Must have an understanding and commitment to HACCP and SQF quality protocols.
• Good knowledge of fresh produce hygiene and food safety
• Must have knowledge of AQIS (Export) and ICA (Interstate) requirements
• Must have a drivers licence, current first Aid certificate, current forklift licence  
• Must have knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
• Experience in a similar position within the FMCG/food processing industry.
