Our client manages a state of the art commercial horticultural operation in the MIA region of New South Wales. We are now searching for an Irrigation Manager to join their professional team.

The scope of the position is to assist with the irrigation management of a large scale horticultural project under drip and sprinkler irrigation. You will form part of the management team and will ensure that maintenance/scheduling/monitoring on programs are carried out on time and to company standards. The role will be vital in ensuring that the plantation meets company performance targets in terms of growth, production and quality.

Reporting to the Farms Manager you will be involved in all key irrigation aspects of the business.

You must be well organised, methodical and timely. You will have an excellent understanding of drip irrigation systems and sprinkler systems including installation, maintenance and trouble shooting.
As water is sourced from both rivers and bores, experience with both is desirable.

You must have the ability to work with managers, external advisors and operating staff in a highly integrated business. This role requires a person with drive and the ability to lead from the front.

Duties Include:
Working with Drip and sprinkler irrigation systems
Installation, maintenance and operation of pumps/ fertigation / pressurised systems
Operation of computerised controllers
In-depth experience with fertigation systems
Water sourced from rivers and bores
General tractor work and Machinery operation

The ideal candidate will have;
Experience in irrigated Agriculture/Horticulture
Extensive drip & sprinkler irrigation experience
Experience in horticultural production or broad acre production highly regarded
Current licenses including forklift and Heavy Vehicle would be an advantage
Operation of various agricultural implements used in large scale horticulture operations
Ability to work independently and as part of a highly functional team
