Irrigation Controller 
  
Our client manages one of the largest commercial horticultural operations in the MIA. 
With a massive project in the ground we are now searching for an Irrigation Controller to join their professional team.
The scope of the position is to coordinate the Irrigation team with a view to ensure that the irrigation and fertigation programs are carried out on time and to company standards. The role will be vital in ensuring that the established plantations and existing projects meet company performance targets in terms of plant growth, production and quality.
 
Reporting to the Farm Operations Manager and working closely with the Senior Agronomist you will be involved in coordinating the irrigation team for the business. You will be responsible for all irrigation aspects for the orchard including -storage, pumps, filtration, fertigation, pipes and maintenance.  

The Irrigation Controller will be responsible for managing of all Irrigation infrastructure, budgets, monitoring, scheduling, reporting and irrigation staff. This will include coordination of site contractors and associated trades required to ensure the system runs efficiently and reliably. You will also adopt new technology and techniques to save costs, improve reliability and performance.
Maintaining relationships with irrigation contacts and key suppliers for the company. 
Recording and reporting of key data (weather, irrigation, budgets, safety, maintenance) is also a key part of this role.

On offer: base salary, plus super and a 4 bedroom house including all electricity/water, UTE for work purpose & phone

Essential knowledge and skills: 
  • Extensive experience in Horticultural Irrigation Management
  • Extensive drip irrigation knowledge  
Demonstrated high level of skills: 
  • Use of orchard equipment, machinery operation and maintenance
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and irrigation software
  • Current driver’s license
  • Comprehensive communication skills
