They are seeking a Diesel Mechanic who is competent in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, farm machinery and related implements.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Mechanic will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of plant and machinery maintenance, both scheduled and unscheduled, including maintaining equipment to manufacturer specifications. Responsibilities will include overseeing use of consumables, fabrication, construction and repair work for machinery and infrastructures.
Based in Katherine in the Northern Territory the successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in machinery maintenance, be self motivated, adaptable and have a practical and innovative approach to the workplace.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of farm machinery including, tractors, implements, and other farm machinery.
The role calls for someone who understands the urgency of intensive production, with an emphasis on forward planning.
You must be well organised, methodical and timely. You will have the ability to work with operational staff in a highly integrated business.
Ideally you will be trade qualified with experience in welding and fabrication a distinct advantage.
Knowledge and skills
Essential:
• Extensive mechanical knowledge of a vast range of plant and equipment
• Experience in fabrication, construction and maintenance
• Formal mechanical qualification or related field or equivalent relevant experience
• Comprehensive communication skills
• Current MR - class driver's license
• Comprehensive time management and organisational skills
• Ability to carry out duties safely in accordance with OHS regulations
Desirable
• Engineering certificate
• Automotive air conditioning certificate
• Occupational or Remote First Aid
• HR licence
