Farm Manager – Irrigated Cropping and Fodder
 
Our client runs a large hay and cropping enterprise in the Pilbara (1.5 hours from Port Headland) alongside their Beef operation.
They are in need of a Farm Manager – Irrigated Cropping and fodder production.
This is a hands on role and requires someone with good leadership to drive the team, forward planning to meet production deadlines
and strategic direction to maximise business efficiencies.
With 900ha of Centre pivots under your control producing hay / silage from pastures and maize it is a busy role.  
 
Responsibilities and Duties:

• Overall Farm Management of pasture and cropping for hay and silage production conducted under 20 centre pivots
• Staff Management of permanent and casual staff including the irrigation team, agronomy, farm hands
• In conjunction with the GM plan the annual farm plan, crop rotation/production, capital expenditure, working budgets,
• maintenance, staffing, and environmental plans.
• Implement above plans on time and on budget.
• Ensure adequate staff are available at required times and trained and skilled in areas to meet production goals.
• Accurate record keeping of farm activities for company data and also compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Regular reports back to GM and Management team on production status and overall farm performance.
• Implement the company EH&S plan and proactively mentor a culture of staff safety and environmental protection in a business that is focused on long term sustainability.
