They are seeking a Farm Hand with an excellent understanding of Almonds and associated use of tractors and equipment from planting through to harvest.
Ideally you will have Farm Hand experience for horticultural tree crop production and be competent in the use of tractors and associated equipment (sprayers/ sweepers/ harvesters).
Reporting to the Farm Manager you will be involved in key planting, irrigation, operational and harvesting aspects of production. You will work with a tight knit team in a highly integrated business.
The role calls for someone who understands the urgency of tree crops with an emphasis on forward planning. You must be well organised, methodical and timely. Duties Include:
- Operation of tractors, spray rigs, sweepers, harvesters and various agricultural implements used in large scale production.
- Irrigation maintenance / repairs / flushing
- Pruning / slashing
- Machinery infield maintenance - greasing, oils, water etc
- Almond production experience
- Excellent tractor and machinery experience.
- Knowledge and experience in machinery maintenance,
- Be self motivated, adaptable and have a practical and innovative approach to the workplace.
- Current licenses including HC would be an advantage.
- Applicants must be physically fit, prepared to work outdoors and be willing to learn aspects of the position.
