Factory - Production Leading Hand 
 
Our client manufacturers fertilisers with niche products going through a phase of growth.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will work with the manufacturing team in a hands on role.
You will blend raw materials in the manufacturing process,  assist with inventory, stock takes and logistics of manufactured products.   
 
We envisage the successful candidate will be someone who enjoys a busy position with variety in their scope of work. This role offers a great opportunity for the right candidate to be part of a small cohesive team, and to grow professionally as our business grows, whilst expanding their knowledge and experience in other areas of the business.
 
Our Expectations
Proven experience in a similar hands on manufacturing role, along with the following attributes and skills:
  • Previous experience in machinery operation, manufacturing processes, stock control, you have learnt how to build effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Physically able to repeatedly lift heavy materials.
  • Ability to maintain/service machinery and carry out small running repairs/fabrication 
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and consistency - quality control
  • Have good organisational skills, and be task focused
  • Analytical and logical problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products 
  • Have a commitment to accuracy and quality improvement, and an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities to improve manufacturing practices
  • Team player, utilise your skills to liaise with manufacturing  staff
  • Logistics
  • Exposure to warehousing and logistics in a manufacturing environment
  • It would be advantageous to have a forklift license, or be prepared to undertake one
  • Be flexible to meet the demands of a growing business
  • Mechanically minded
  • Welding / fabrication experience an advantage
  • Machine maintenance / repair an advantage
Responsibilities
  • End to end involvement in manufacturing of fertiliser products.
  • Develop and maintain sound communication between suppliers, customers, freight providers and team members
  • Ensure  product quality and company standards are exceeded
