Business Development Manager – Applied Agricultural Research
Our client is a Global independent agricultural research organisation, supporting sustainable and profitable agriculture through science.
They currently have an opportunity for an experienced individual as a Business Development Manager covering Australia. Location is negotiable.
They provide a range of development and related technical services to horticultural and agribusiness clients, including new product development for agricultural inputs, field efficacy and residue trials, plant pathology research, laboratory diagnostics, crop variety trials and cooperative research work. With locations across Australia their trial work covers a diverse range of research topics, crops, agricultural inputs, pests and diseases. They are committed to excellence in research that is applied, practical and based on client needs. They have won many awards for their support to the industry.

Key attributes required for this position:
Selection Criteria
A degree in agricultural science or a related field.
Demonstrated agricultural experience and business management. Regulatory Registration knowledge would be an advantage, but not compulsory. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to liaise with a broad range of clients within the industry.
To qualify for this position, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Duties include:
- According to the strategy of the company and in collaboration with the Business Unit Director build the business development strategy and manage the related sales actions.
- Visit clients and be the main contact responsible for client relationships.
- Manage and develop the business with the existing clients.
- Identify leads and prospects.
- Prepare sales budgets.
- Consistent reporting and communication with the Business Unit Director on all
- Attend conferences and industry events related to the business and its promotion.
- Develop and maintain communication networks to enable the conduct of work in key areas for all major crops.
Key attributes required for this position:
- Sound agronomic knowledge of varying agricultural production systems.
- Astute business acumen, passion, influence and drive as well as a critical understanding of science.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency with excellent organisational skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Have the attributes of a dynamic and autonomous leader.
